Themed & Adventure Trails
From Göttstätt, peaceful meadow and woodland paths lead uphill, past working alpine pastures, right up to the higher reaches of the Zillertal Alps. Those wishing to venture further afield can take the mountain railways and set off from an altitude of 2,000 metres.
Classic routes nearby include the high-altitude trail via Hippach, the walk to the Wiesenhof Alm and the panoramic trail on the Penken, offering views across the entire valley.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I set off on a hike straight from my accommodation?
Yes. Paths through meadows and woods around Göttstätt and Hippach start right by the accommodation. So for many walks, you can simply leave your car behind.
Which walks are suitable for families with children?
For families, the easy trails around Hippach and the hiking trails on the Penken are particularly suitable. The Penken Panorama Circular Trail is especially family-friendly and can easily be tackled even with children.
Where can I find walks with places to stop for refreshments?
In the Mayrhofen-Hippach hiking area, there are numerous trails leading to mountain huts and alpine pastures where food and drink are served. This means you can perfectly combine your hike with a cosy stop for refreshments and regional Tyrolean specialities.
Do I need any special kit for hiking in the Zillertal?
For easy walking trails, sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are sufficient. For longer mountain hikes, we recommend good footwear, plenty of water, sun protection and checking the current weather conditions. More challenging hikes require sure-footedness and mountain experience.
